At Velia Fertility, we understand that fertility treatment is deeply personal. Protecting the confidentiality of the information you share with us is an important part of the trust you place in our service.

1. Our Commitment to Confidentiality

Personal and health information shared with Velia Fertility in connection with our services will be treated as confidential. This includes information provided verbally, electronically or in writing, as well as documents you choose to share with us.

This may include fertility and reproductive health information, IVF treatment history, embryology and laboratory reports, fertilisation and embryo development information, embryo grading, genetic or PGT information, and other information relevant to your consultation.

We access and use this information only as reasonably necessary to provide and administer our services and to meet applicable professional, legal and record-keeping obligations.

2. Who May Access Your Information

Access to client information is limited to authorised Velia Fertility personnel who reasonably require access to provide or administer our services.

We will not disclose your confidential information to an IVF clinic, fertility specialist, healthcare professional, laboratory, family member or other third party without your consent, unless disclosure is required or permitted by law.

If you would like Velia Fertility to communicate with your treating clinic, healthcare professional or another person on your behalf, we will seek your consent before doing so.

3. Online Consultations and Electronic Communication

Velia Fertility may provide consultations and communicate with clients through video consultation platforms, email, telephone, messaging services or other electronic systems.

We take reasonable steps to protect the confidentiality and security of information communicated through these channels. However, no method of electronic communication or data transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Where possible, clients should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through unsecured communication channels.

4. Professional Discussion and Quality Improvement

In some circumstances, a case may be discussed within Velia Fertility for professional consultation, quality improvement or service delivery purposes. Only information reasonably necessary for that purpose will be accessed or shared.

Personal and health information will not be used for research, education, marketing, social media, testimonials or case studies without appropriate consent and, where applicable, appropriate de-identification.

5. Exceptions to Confidentiality

There may be limited circumstances in which Velia Fertility is required or permitted by law to disclose information without your consent. This may include where disclosure is required by Australian law, a court or tribunal order, or is otherwise legally permitted.

Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will endeavour to inform you if such a disclosure is required.
